Job Description

Kessler’s Human Resources Generalist drives successful recruiting, hiring and onboarding, supporting the team to select the best person for the job and set them up for success. This role requires an independent thinker, problem solver, and people cultivator.

Responsibilities

• Recruiting: Partner with management team to understand staffing needs, post jobs, screen resumes, conduct initial interviews, assist hiring managers with interview scheduling and conduct reference checks.
• Employee Administration: Manage the onboarding process (offer letters, background checks, orientation, new hire check-in calls, etc.) and offboarding activities (checklists, exit interviews, etc.). Maintain and update employee files. Responsible for all leave management.
• Employee Relations: Monitor employee morale and company culture. Assist employees who have problems or challenges and offer support. Conduct employee investigations, report on findings, and offer solutions.
• Compliance: Keep up to date on evolving laws. Ensure adherence to legal requirements, industry standards, and company policies. Update Employee Handbook as needed.
• General: Evaluate existing standard operating procedures and best practice documents; update or create new documentation as needed. Share and save all standardized processes in SharePoint.
• Training: Assist team in organizing new hire training as well as ongoing training for team members. Assist in updating the Operations Manual quarterly to update current processes. Oversee training materials for each department. Bring new ideas on improving training to the management team.
• Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of recruiting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
• Strong knowledge of state and federal employment laws and practices.
• Broad knowledge of recruiting, employee relations, training, compensation & benefits, performance management, organizational planning, and communication plans.
• Track record of creating excellent relationships with internal team members.
• Expertise with employee investigations, leaves of absence, and employee administration.
• A solid history in employee engagement & enrichment.
• Results oriented with a background managing multiple deliverables & deadlines simultaneously.
• Service oriented, tactful, and confident approach – ability to support your point of view with data, compliance, and/or HR expertise and knowing when to hold firm and when to back down.
• An ability to hold team members accountable, explain the “why” behind decisions, and take direction from various stakeholders.
• Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, working both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
